ABSTRACT

Ameloblastoma is benign odontogenic tumor of epithelial origin which is often aggressive and it originates from remnants of the dental lamina and dental organ (odontogenic epithelium). It is generally a painless and slow growing tumor causing expansion of the cortical bone and infiltration of the soft tissues. Its incidence peak is in the third and fourth decade of life and it is most common in black individuals. The ratio of ameloblastoma of the mandible to maxilla is 5 to 1, with higher sensitivity in the mandible. Here we are reporting the case of Ameloblastoma in 36 years old female patient and we are able to find and document the typical histopathological features of Ameloblastoma.

ABSTRACT

Ovarian tumors are common forms of neoplasia in women and it accounts for about 30.0% of female genital cancers. Brenner tumors are subgroup of transitional cell tumors. Benign Brenner tumors are usually unilateral, small and solid. But in our case the tumor was very huge though showing all features of benign Brenner tumor on histopathological examination. For the diagnosis of benign Brenner tumor, radiological investigations are not a reliable tool. Therefore histopathological examination remains gold standard method for final diagnosis of this entity. This case report of large benign Brenner tumor is presented here because of its rarity.

ABSTRACT

Synchronous primary neoplasms are defined when two or more neoplasms take place concurrently in the same patient. Double synchronous primary gynaecological neoplasms are relatively uncommon and the incidence rate ranges from 0.6% to 5.4%. Synchronous malignancies of the ovary and the uterine cervix are rare situations in which the prognosis is established not only by clinical stage but also by the histological grade of the adenomatous component. Here we have presented the case of a 60 year old patient who presented for diffuse abdominal pain and weight loss that was diagnosed with synchronous cervical and ovarian carcinoma on histopathology. This case report of double synchronous primary neoplasm of the cervix and ovary is presented here because of its rarity

ABSTRACT

Acinic cell carcinoma (ACC) is a low-grade malignant salivary neoplasm. In the head and neck region, the parotid gland is the predominant site of origin and women are usually more frequently diagnosed than men. ACCs constitute approximately 6% to 8% of all salivary gland neoplasms, and 17% of primary salivary gland malignancies. ACC has a significant tendency to recur, to produce metastases (cervical lymph nodes and lungs), and may have an aggressive evolution. ACC can be misinterpreted because of its low grade histology, due to its benign appearance, encapsulated tumor, absence of necrosis and histologically similar to the normal parotid gland. Histopathologist should be aware and very vigilant while reporting this entity.
